I purchased 2 14” Railings
Easy to order, product delivered on time in less than 2-weeks, and they look great! Except… because the rail is rolled cold steel there is a normal seam down the length of the rail. This is normal, and it was not even visible during the install, and there lies the problem. Maybe it was due to the lighting at the time of install, but when I installed the rail the seam was facing up, and I didn’t notice it. Only afterwards, when I had already screwed the self taping screws in to the bottom, did I notice the seam on top. Now every time I go up or down the stairs “I” notice it, and doubt anyone else would (including my wife) unless I pointed it out. A simple fix to this would be to either point it out in the instructions or, better yet, put a label on the seam side, stating to face down. I have considered having the bracket holes filled with weld, and refinished, and then reinstalling correct side up, but that would take more people than just myself noticing it!
